The perfect Sea Point to Camps Bay day runs from 06:45 to sunset: a reformer class at The Movement Lab on Main Road, matcha in Sea Point, a dip at Saunders Rock, a sauna at SaunaHaüs, brunch at Jarryds, The Lot Collective and Mojo Market on Regent Road, Clifton 4th in the afternoon and sundowners at Chinchilla in Camps Bay. One dress does the whole day if it is linen, packs small in a beach bag and goes over a swimsuit, and the Amaya Aura Dress is the one we reach for.

Amaya is designed in Sea Point, so this is the day the studio actually has, not a tourist route. The times are ours, not the venues'. Check each place's hours before you go. We say what we love; we are not affiliated with any of them.

06:45: Reformer at The Movement Lab, Sea Point

Start at The Movement Lab, a STOTT Pilates reformer studio at 202B Main Road, Sea Point, opposite Piazza St John. Book the earliest class that suits you; the schedule is on Instagram at @themovementlab_sa. There is a second studio at 16 Dreyer Street in Claremont, and a Bree Street studio at 111 Bree Street opening October 2026. Amaya loves it because a reformer class wakes you up without wrecking you for the beach.

Wear: leggings and grip socks. Pack the day in your bag: swimsuit, the Aura Dress, sandals, hat, SPF 50, a towel, a light layer.

08:00: Matcha in Sea Point

Two Sea Point options Amaya loves. Nice To Matcha, for the matcha cheesecake if the class earned it. Ceremony Matcha Bar, for the Triple Matcha when you need to be awake until Chinchilla. If you are walking, Cova Matcha and Coffee does a cold-foam matcha and Love Matcha has a Sea Point branch too.

Wear: still the leggings. Change comes at the water.

08:45: A dip at Saunders Rock

Saunders Rock tidal pool sits at the Bantry Bay end of the Promenade. The Atlantic is cold in every month, so this is a dip, not a swim: 2 minutes in, 10 minutes on the rocks. Change into the swimsuit, pull the Aura Dress over it afterwards and you are dressed for the rest of the morning.

Wear: swimsuit, then the Aura Dress. Linen dries on you. Sandals you can rinse.

09:30: SaunaHaüs, Mouille Point

Back along the Promenade to Mouille Point and SaunaHaüs at Prom Park, 160 Beach Road. Guided sauna and cold plunge, about R300 a session. Amaya loves the order of it: sea first, heat second, plunge third. You come out slower and warmer.

Wear: swimsuit under the dress again. The dress goes back on over a dry swimsuit if you packed 2, or over a damp one if you did not. This is the moment linen beats every other fabric: it does not show the damp for long and does not cling.

11:00: Brunch at Jarryds

Jarryds is Sea Point's brunch room. Order for the appetite the sauna gave you.

Wear: the Aura Dress, hat off, hair still salty. Nobody in Sea Point minds.

12:30: The Lot Collective and Mojo Market, Regent Road

The Lot Collective at 77 Regent Road stocks local labels, Amaya among them. If you want to see the Aura Dress or the Byblos Knit Skirt and Top Set in person before you order online, this is the rail. Down the road at 30 Regent Road, Mojo Market is open daily and does the food-hall version of Sea Point: 1 coffee, 1 plate, 20 minutes of people-watching.

Wear: the Aura Dress is a mini, which matters in a changing room. Trying on a set over a swimsuit takes 3 minutes.

14:30: Clifton 4th

Drive or take a ride along Victoria Road to Clifton. Clifton's coves sit below the road and are more sheltered than Camps Bay beach when the south-easter blows. In December and January the wind usually arrives in the afternoon, so this is where it matters that your dress has weight in the hem and your hat has a tie.

UV is very high. Reapply SPF 50 every 2 hours. The sand is white and reflects.

Wear: swimsuit, then the Aura Dress over it when you walk up the steps. Sand is 1 reason Amaya cut the Aura in linen: sand shakes out of linen and does not stick.

17:45: Sundowners at Chinchilla, Camps Bay

Chinchilla Rooftop in Camps Bay is where Amaya likes to end the day. Aim to be there about an hour before sunset: that is around 18:58 in mid October and around 19:55 in late December. Once the sun drops behind the sea the temperature follows, and the south-easter has not always finished by then.

Wear: the Aura Dress, sand shaken out, with the light layer you packed at 06:45. Swap the sandals if you brought a second pair. If you want to change for dinner afterwards, the Byblos set lives in a bag without creasing, and the Chasing the Sun Short Set does the same job in cotton.

Swap-outs Amaya also loves

The same day, different stops. All within the Sea Point to Camps Bay strip or 1 suburb over.

  • Instead of the reformer: Virgin Active Point Collection Country Club in Green Point, a social wellness club with reformer, padel, sauna and a pool, opened February 2026. Or a padel court at The Grid Padel in Three Anchor Bay, where Matcha and More is inside the building, or Africa Padel in Camps Bay.
  • Instead of the Sea Point matcha: Kanéla in Green Point for breakfast, which also runs a Saturday run club. Or Arthur's Mini Super, the Sea Point deli, for a coffee and something to carry to the rocks.
  • Instead of Saunders Rock: the Sea Point Pavilion pool, or Camps Bay tidal pool if you are already heading that way.
  • Instead of a solo dip: Running Late Club in Sea Point does evening social runs that end in an ocean dip. NotSoFast Running Club is the other name to know.
  • Instead of Clifton 4th: Camps Bay beach is bigger and takes the wind. Llandudno is further and quieter. Signal Hill at sunset replaces Chinchilla when you want grass under you instead of a chair.

Prefer weights to reformer? Swap the 06:45 class for SWEAT 1000 at BUC Fitness Club, 3rd floor of The Point, 76 Regent Road. It is a full-body group class of about an hour, and Bjorn Steinbach is the trainer to book. BUC opens at 05:30 on weekdays, so you are still at Saunders Rock on time. More in our Sea Point gym guide.

The 1 dress that carries the day

The Aura Dress, mini linen, R1 800, sizes S to L. It goes over a swimsuit at Saunders Rock, through a sauna bag at SaunaHaüs, into a brunch at Jarryds, a changing room at The Lot, a beach at Clifton and a rooftop at Chinchilla without a second outfit. Linen creases, and on this day that is the point. See the holiday collection for the rest.

Amaya delivers across South Africa for R99, free over R1 500. Pieces leave the studio in 1 to 2 working days; Cape Town takes 1 to 2 days, Johannesburg 2 to 3. The first exchange is free within 14 days. Check the size guide, or WhatsApp Max on +27 83 703 8502 with the date you land.
