Our story
Made in Cape Town, for the days you’ll remember
Amaya started with one idea: a dress should make you feel like the best version of yourself the moment you put it on, and it shouldn’t be the same dress everyone else is wearing.
Designer Maxine Benatar sketches every style herself, picks fabrics by hand and has each piece made in a small studio run in Cape Town. New styles are added regularly, in small numbers. When a style sells out, it’s usually gone for good.

Shop new inWhat we believe
Three things we won’t compromise on
-
01
Small runs, never repeated
Every style is a small run. We’d rather make 20 of something special than 2 000 of something safe.
-
02
Local, from sketch to stitch
Designed, cut and sewn in Cape Town. You’re supporting a real studio and the people who work in it.
-
03
Made to be worn, not stored
Fabrics that move, cuts that flatter, pieces that go from lunch to late. Holiday, wedding, dance floor.
