The best weekend markets in Cape Town are the Oranjezicht City Farm Market (OZCF) at the V&A Waterfront on Saturday and Sunday, Neighbourgoods at The Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock on Saturday, and Bay Harbour Market in Hout Bay from Friday to Sunday. OZCF moved in December 2025 to the corner of Granger Bay Boulevard and Dock Road. In the winelands, add Boschendal's Friday Night Market and Root44 in Stellenbosch on Saturdays.

Amaya is designed in Sea Point and made in Cape Town in small runs, so we care about local makers. Markets are where Cape Town shows what it makes. We say what we love; we are not affiliated with any of these places. Check hours before you go.

A note on food

Stalls and vendors change from week to week, so we do not promise a dish. What we can tell you is what kind of market each one is: a food hall, a farm market or a night market with music. Go hungry, walk the full loop once, then choose.

In town

Oranjezicht City Farm Market, V&A Waterfront

OZCF moved on 6 December 2025 to a new site across the road from the old one: corner of Granger Bay Boulevard and Dock Road, V&A Waterfront. Older guides still describe the old spot, so use this address. It runs on Saturday from 08:00 to 14:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 14:30. The Wednesday Night Market runs from 16:00 to 21:30, except in June and July. Go early on Saturday, before the crowd.

The farm itself is separate, at 87 Upper Orange Street, Oranjezicht. It is open Monday to Friday 08:00 to 14:00 and Saturday 08:00 to 12:00.

Neighbourgoods Market, Woodstock

Neighbourgoods is at The Old Biscuit Mill, 375 Albert Road, Woodstock. It runs on Saturday from 09:00 to 15:00. There is also a Sunday market from 10:00, closing at 15:00 or 16:00 depending on the source, so check before you go. On Saturdays there is no parking inside the Mill. Secure parking costs R20 at the College of Cape Town opposite, through the Kent Street entrance. MyCiTi route 261 stops outside.

Mojo Market, Sea Point

Mojo Market is an indoor food hall at the Mojo Hotel on Regent Road, Sea Point. It has more than 25 vendors, bars and live music most days. Time Out lists it as open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, but sources differ, so check hours before you go. It is our pick for a rainy weekend or a late weeknight.

Hout Bay and the south

Bay Harbour Market, Hout Bay

Bay Harbour Market is in the old fish factory at 31 Harbour Road, Hout Bay. It runs on Friday from 09:30 to 21:00, and on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 09:30 to 17:00. Expect food, live music and local shopping. Friday night is the one for dinner with music.

Cape Point Vineyards Summer Market, Noordhoek

This one is on Thursdays, from 16:30 to 20:30, at Cape Point Vineyards on Silvermine Road, Noordhoek. The season runs from 1 October to April. Entry is free, and the lawns run down to a lake. Bring a blanket and stay for the evening.

In the winelands

Boschendal Friday Night Market

Boschendal is on Helshoogte Road (R310) in the Franschhoek valley. The Friday Night Market runs from 17:00 to 21:00 according to Boschendal, and it is seasonal. Book on Quicket. The estate's phone lines are down, so email enquiries@boschendal.co.za with questions.

Root44 Market, Stellenbosch

Root44 is at the corner of the R44 and Annandale Road, Stellenbosch. A 2026 source lists it on Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00, weather permitting. Older guides mention Sundays too, so check before you go. Tel 021 300 3935.

Franschhoek Village Market

Franschhoek Village Market is at 29 Huguenot Road, Franschhoek. It runs on Saturday from 09:00 to 15:00, weather permitting. Check before you go. It pairs well with a day on the wine farms: see our day in the winelands.

Lourensford Market, Somerset West

Lourensford Market is on Lourensford Road, Somerset West. It runs on Friday from 17:00 to 22:00 and on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00, in season. Check dates before you go.
